See the Geometry of Truth for the proof

In the definitions section, when we defined and distinguished between God, Lord, and Deity, we drew their parallels to today's realities and realized that everyone (without) exception has a deity that they worship. If we chase this fact up the conceptual track to its absolute Frame, we find ourselves faced with the inevitability of choosing 1 and only 1 of 2 options. Either we worship God or we don't, which is the worship of Satan.

See Definitions! & Graveyard of Atheism Sections for more comprehensive explanation and proofs and basis for these derivations.

But I'm going to keep it simple and summarize the REALITIES we already proved to help us proceed in this section.

  • Worship is a continuous non-stop activity being performed by every human being, whether they know it and acknowledge it or not.
  • Worship of the Creator God (Allah) is the decision-making that leads to the most Rational (logically consistent)-understanding, acceptance, and the following of his Commands and abiding by his Rules.
  • Satan's strategy to get you to worship him revolves around getting you to make decisions that are hypocritical and/or logically inconsistent with what you believe.

To understand how Satan leads us away from the worship of God, we will examine the strategies used by his greatest worshiper and leader of his armies, Iblis.

The first thing we must remember is that it is a lot easier than you we might think. God says in this verse:

"O you who believe, you shall embrace total submission; do not follow the steps of Satan, for he is your most ardent enemy. "

[Quran 2:208]

As you can see, God defined the worship of Satan as anything short of "Total Submission". The key word here is Total.

So it's a lot easier than many(most) of you might think. Let us take some time to reflect on ways one can make the mistake of unintentionally or without knowledge, become a follower of Satan and letting Iblis stray you from guidance and following the Rightful Imam.

For the sake of this conversation, I will simplify the role of the Imam as the person chosen by God to be the most worthy to be speaking on his behalf to those who seek the right means of worshiping him i.e. lead the ones who chose to submit to God. For the sake of accuracy, I must point out that when I say God, I mean The Creator God, The God whose words are The Qur'an.

For more details on the position, purpose, authority and more concerning the role of the Imam, See The Imam Section.

As I am yet to prove to you I am the Imam of this Age, my thoughts or opinions on the matter don't or shouldn't carry any weight or hold any authority. So until my Imamate is proven without any shadow of a doubt, it would only make sense to use the Qur'an and simple logical deductions as mutually accepted common ground to prove each of the points I will establish. This should be acceptable to everyone so far as the proper way of approaching this topic, however nothing surprises me anymore so please do raise any concerns you have in this regard.

I am also assuming I am speaking to Shia and thus understand "Allegiance to the Imam as the living representative of God is a command from God" and therefore, the means of worshiping God. I did not go into proving the religious and logical basis for Imamate as a foundation of Islam, complementary and inseparable from the written Qur'an as the Co-chairs serving as the divinely chosen primary sources of guidance.

See Proof of Imamate Section if you're not convinced God has ordered you to Obey and Follow to the Imam (his representative of earth).

However, all the Sunni schools are in agreement in the religious obligation imposed on allegiance to The Mahdi. Hence feel free to continue along in this section without getting side tracked into the Imamate discussion for the time being.

We already established from verse 2:208 that anything less than total submission to God is considered Satan worship as you would be taking steps in his direction rather than remaining on the Straight Path. And since we are all of the agreement that God has commanded us to follow The Imam (Mahdi) that Guides By HIS Command, the following of any other Imam becomes less than complete submission to God's orders and considered the worship and following of Satan. Many will hear this and think to themselves that their Imam is no way someone leading them on the path of Satan. But that would be impossible to know unless you have taken the time to check for yourself. Remember that lies are usually passed on by people who either they themselves are unaware of it or they know how to make it sound believable. You shouldn't think that you can spot a lie just by hearing it, most lies are designed to be believed and are seductive in nature. This is why you should never try to figure out the truth before listening to every side of a story, regardless of how much evidence one side presents to you. If you could not tell from the title, Satan is an expert at hiding his influence. If you don't believe me, take half an hour one day and listen to two affiliated news casts from opposing political parties and then try to tell me what's what. Hell, I would be impressed if you could still remember your own name. These networks will present you with the same video footage, audio recordings, paper evidence and witness accounts and yet have two completely opposing conclusions that each sound 100% true!

Let's remember that Satan's entire army of men (his followers) is made up of people who think they are on the right path. Nobody will be going down a path they knew was Satan's.  It's like driving in the opposite direction of where they are trying to go, people don't end up doing that knowingly! Rather it is due to either faulty directions or they made a mistake somewhere or at some point that got them off of the right path. So it is important to understand that what one "feels, thinks, or believes" are irrelevant in determining the truth. It should be fairly obvious today that the influence of Familiarity coming from cultures and environment has a much greater effect on people's beliefs than the truth does.

For this reason it is important to remind and ask yourself whether or not you are following what YOU KNOW  God told you to follow or are you simply going with the flow and doing what you were told to believe. This is extremely important today, because for many generations past they may not have had the access to the information required to make sure how true they were being to The Prophet's will and the obedience to God and God alone.

So to reiterate, it doesn't matter how right something seems to you, the question here is can you validate that belief from the sources God has sanctioned or are you following your own desires under the guise of doing God's work. Imagine if our prayers had less to do with God's Command and more inline with what we feel or think we should do, Muslims would be doing Yoga 5 times a day. Without going much further in this, it should be obvious our individual feelings on any matter have no bearing on the truth. And this basic fact is evident in our modern day reality of virtuosity claims reaching obscene levels matched only with the injustices committed in its name and by the same "virtuous" people.  All of this should be fairly obvious and is very clear in The Qur'an if one but looked!

What We Know Of Satan's Influence

"You may entice them with your voice, and mobilize all your forces and all your men against them, and share in their money and children, and promise them. Anything the devil promises is no more than an illusion.

[Quran 17:64]

"I will come to them from before them, and from behind them, and from their right, and from their left, and You will find that most of them are unappreciative."

[Quran 7:17]

He said, "Since You have honored him over me, if You respite me till the Day of Resurrection, I will possess all his descendants, except a few."

[Quran 17:62]

We have committed to Hell multitudes of jinns and humans. They have minds with which they do not understand, eyes with which they do not see, and ears with which they do not hear. They are like animals; no, they are far worse - they are totally unaware.

[Quran 7:179]

We have permitted the enemies of every prophet human and jinn devils to inspire in each other fancy words, in order to deceive. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it. You shall disregard them and their fabrications.

[Quran 6:112]

Summary of God's Warnings:

  1. Satan was granted permission to mobilize all his forces and use great powers in seducing Mankind to his way.
  2. Satan can promise you, lie to you, speak seductively to you and make his way much more attractive.
  3. Satan will come at you from every direction, in work matters, family matters, raising your children etc...
  4. Satan will succeed in deceiving the majority into following him except for a few.
  5. Satan will sit and wait on God's righteous path, that is to say that the closer you are to the truth, the greater his efforts will be to divert you away from it.

It goes without saying that when facing any opponent in any type of a duel, having the right strategy will make all the difference in the world. So how about when the duel is for your soul and your opponent is Satan's greatest slave, Iblis the accursed. One whose so great in his commitment in carrying out orders that his devotion reached angelic ranks (PERFECT). A being of smokeless fire and commander of legions of Jin and Men to be used as his pawns in carrying out his plans. Yet despite all of this, people look twice before crossing an empty road but don't stop to think once before assuming core principles about their faith.

But for the honest seeker of truth in this day and age it is crucial to know thy enemy! just like any experienced strategist would do; especially against an enemy whose resume includes not 1, but 2! World Wars. And thankfully, God will not leave those seeking his path stranded without any means to defend themselves against the accursed one. So this next segment we will study Iblis's methods of deception and his means of infiltrating our perception of what is true when it isn't.

I will try to keep the discussion focused on the ability to recognize the Imam to avoid falling into unnecessary tangents which is far too easy in those discussions.

Strategy 1: Pride-God is not Greater, You Are!

And when We said to the angels, "Prostrate before Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.

It is We Who created you and gave you shape; then We bade the angels prostrate to Adam, and they prostrate; not so Iblis; He refused to be of those who prostrate.

These revelations tell us that Iblis was an honored worshiper of God, elevated to be among the angels in his level of worship. But when the test came, it was revealed that he was worshipping himself all along. Iblis was receiving great honor and respect for his worship, so it was a also a great source of pride for him which placed him above the rest of his fellow Jin. This is why he had no problem performing exceptionally better than everyone else in his obedience. In other words he didn't APPEAR to have any issues following the orders of God as long as his ego was being fed and remained elevated above others. But God is most wise, and he knows what is in the hearts and does not go by appearances like most superficial human beings. It is far beyond God to judge a book by its cover. So to reveal his hidden malice God tested him and thus his trial involved that which he holds next to God in his heart, his PRIDE. So when God ordered him to prostrate to someone else, his pride took over him and overcame his fear of God and wouldn't allow him to obey God's order thereby making him Satan's most powerful and greatest worshipper. His pride led him to place God's orders second to his Own wants and desires, Allah was not Greater, his Pride was.

Point 1-All sins-any form of disobedience to God-stem from Pride!

This is why once Iblis became the embodiment of pride, he gave birth to the First Sin: Envy.

[Iblees] said, "Do You see this one whom You have honored above me? If You delay me until the Day of Resurrection, I will surely destroy his descendants, except for a few."

In the 17:62 above God warned that Iblis is going to use the same reason God failed him in the test (Pride) to drag ALL of Adam's descendants except for a few! This was envy manifesting itself in more kufur- "I know more than God".

It's worth mentioning here, that when God asked the angels and Iblis to prostrate to Adam, he placed Adam closer to him than the others, (closer to God means closer in their knowledge of God, not a physical proximity!), the reason wasn't obvious but it became clear as Iblis persisted in his sinning and in his envy his narcissism grew to the point of challenging God's knowledge and wanted to prove that he had made a mistake favoring Adam over him. Unbeknown to Iblis, he was doomed that same instant he proposed the challenge by proving he is unable to repent unlike Adam (Mankind), who was destined to win the challenge by Iblis and despite sinning (when he disobeyed God later) he will return to God's grace as highlighted by the TEMPORARY reprieve of Iblis while those stuck in their ways would join would join their leader in Hell.

This should give some hope to those seeking God's favor however this doesn't change the fact it will not be easy and most will fail and be cast in Hell with Iblis. It's still pretty straightforward at this point, most people are going to follow Iblis. I am repeating this because many people today still allow their greater numbers deceive them into a false sense of superiority when it comes to being with the truth despite the Quran clearly telling us otherwise.

This is another mistake those following Iblis will make. Iblis believed that because he was able to deceive so many to go astray that he made his point to God, but he was surprised when God's response was indifferent to that fact and that all of them will be joining them in Hell. This showed that Iblis thought his numbers will prove to God that he had made a mistake chosing Adam, yet God's retort showed that he wasn't interested in those who follow Iblis, this was all part of God's plan to purify mankind and Iblis would only succeed at leading the bad apples away and will not establish any authority over God's righteous worshipers.

(Iblis) said: “O my Lord! Because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong, Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace).” (God) said: “This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee.”

 15: 36–42

This means that quantity as in the MAJORITY does not constitute EVIDENCE or PROOF unless the criteria is a numbers game, which we know it isn't because God told us it isn't. As a matter of fact, If anything, the Qur'an is telling us the exact opposite is more likely to be true than not. This idea should not be surprising and should statement go without saying to all Muslims considering we live in a Christian Majority world today. So the actions of Iblis that we need to avoid in order to avoid taking steps in his path:

Point 2-Envy is a form of disobedience to God.

Point 3-Not admitting your sin is/will result in more disobedience.

Point 4-Quantity of believers in A has no bearing on truthfulness of A.

Fact number 4 is also an example of the next strategy we will discuss, which brings us to Iblis's teachings of requiring baseless evidence.

Strategy 2: Setting Arbitrary Criterion

And when We said unto the angels: Fall down prostrate before Adam and they fell prostrate all save Iblis, he said: Shall I fall prostrate before that which Thou hast created of clay?

He said: What hindered you so that you did not prostrate when I commanded you? He said: I am better than he: Thou hast created me of fire, while him Thou didst create of dust.

So Iblis didn't admit that his Pride was causing him to disobey, instead he wanted to defend his disbelief by giving reasons. So he chose a difference between them and made it a reason for superiority. This is strategy is the most used of Iblis's tricks. He tricks people into believing a BASELESS reason to disbelieve something that is a threat to their pride. Notice there is no reason that fire is better than clay! To each it's uses. Advantages and Disadvantages can be assigned to both depending on the situation. But more importantly, it is not a reason to disobey God. Why is Fire better than Clay if God just told you Clay is better? Do we know more than God? Yet despite how obvious this is, it is the most frequently relied upon way to resist all of God's chosen people. The examples are endless but here's a few infamous ones:

Another example of this problem is highlighted during the time of The Prophet when many of the Jewish communities rejected him because he's was an Ishmaelite. But perhaps a more related example would be:

The common denominator of all the stories above is the use of their own opinions, regardless of whether or not sound "reasonable" from their perspective of culture, habits, and above all, their EXPECTATIONS! Notice that people always compared The Chosen One to who they would have chosen. You never hear any references to scriptures or argument's from God against his claims. They use their criteria to check and evaluate his fitness to lead them based on what they deem to be appropriate while ignoring the Criteria set by God. Many times the King was chosen and appointed directly a Prophet among them, and STILL people denied and disbelieved. So remember, when you need to check if this is the person appointed by God, you need to compare his evidence to what the scriptures and the Qur'an say the evidence is, not what you think or expect him or want him to be. I will cover that in The Right Way to evaluate the claim Section.

Point 5-Checking for what God told us to check for.

Strategy 3: One-Eyed Vision

One Eyed Vision is Iblis's ability to convince you that you see and know everything and therefore there is no need to properly investigate anything. What is worse than this is when he blows in this Knot of your logic and expands it into an entirely Bias and Closed-Minded system of evaluation while believing it to be fair and open-minded. This gets more and more difficult to cure with age, as one builds more and more beliefs based on said system. You begin looking at things with one eye when you start doing things without seeing the reason behind doing them in the first place. This was the source reason of what happened to Iblis. Over time Iblis was worshiping God and collecting admiration until he forgot the real reason why he was doing it and began thinking he was doing it to be admired, so despite the appearance of worshiping God he was actually worshipping his own ego. This is why bowing to Adam conflicted with his religion self-love and his pride. Iblis forgot that he was there to worship God so when he tells you to do something different to what you are accustom, it should be easy for you to change and do it.  This is the difference between those are truly aware and can see far behind their actions and those who are victims and slaves to their habits and traditions. The lack of knowledge can lead many people to become this way, and God always says that he is:

للّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

Lord of the Knowledgeable

This means only the men of knowledge are the ones truly worshipping God. These are the people who understand that everything they do in worship is being done because God ordered it to be done, regardless of anything else. The fact that this worship is also good for us on so many levels is only a testimony of God's mercy and has no bearing on whether we should comply. God illustrates his will to filter out and separate these two types of worshippers. Similar to his test to Iblis, God always distinguishes that between the 2 kinds of worshippers whose reasoning had drifted to the worship of their cultures and their egos despite an identical appearance to the worship of those who remain true and sincere. The best example of this:

We decreed your former qiblah only in order that We might know the Prophet's true adherents and those who were to disown him. It was indeed a hard test, but not for those whom Allah guided.

(Surah al-Baqarah, 2:143 )

God says the only reason he did this was to test to see if people are worshiping with both eyes open. That is to understand that what you are doing, you are doing because God says so not for the sake of the act itself. And keep in mind this was difficult to The Prophet's companions, and all he asked was to "technically" stand facing the opposite way!

Point 6-Always understand reasons behind what you do

As the source of Iblis's fall from grace, he has deceived almost every single person into looking at things with one eye. There will be a separate section that dscusses this with more detals but for the sake of the topic at hand I will state the methods that we need to be aware of, backed by a few examples. Just keep in mind the one eye metaphor does not refer to seeing half the picture as in knowing half the truth, it's only ironic that most people understand it this way, rather it symbolizes inability to see or perceive "Depth", as in looking behind actions and keep the reasoning behind the actions part of the picture.

"The fool looks at the finger that points to the sky"

It's the point in the film where the guy Amelie has a crush on is following a trail of clues she left for him. He's following arrows drawn in chalk on the sidewalk. At one point the arrows end to a living statue, who's pointing to Sacré Coeur Cathedral on the hill above.

The Guy is staring at the statue, perplexed, trying to figure out the next clue, when a child says to him, "The Fool Looks At The Finger That Points To The Sky", meaning, "the statue is pointing to where you want to go next, fool!"

Strategy 4: False Language

One very successful way of Iblis can blind your eye is by the use of bad language. And I don't mean bad words! I am talking about language that deceives and shades the truth. A good example would be the use of the word "believe" . Most people today would claim that they believe in Heaven and Hell, but they never say the word Claim , instead they use the word "believe". The problem here is that Belief is defined as the word referring to the ideas that govern your actions. So if a parent says they believe in Hell but they you are always sinning then they you can do is Claim to believe in hell. Because a claim can be unsubstantiated but belief is acted upon. People using the wrong words is probably the number 1 strategy Iblis has ever used. I mean every word of that. Impressionable children growing up will either assume going to Hell is a joke or that what you're doing is not sinful. This is how Iblis propagates his agenda. And his agenda looks very well propagated to me.

Fact 7-Always use accurate language when discussing important matters

Strategy 5: Wishful Thinking

This will have to be my favorite, by far. Wishful thinking is believing what you want to believe and then looking for reasons that support your beliefs and pretending the ones that oppose it do not exist.

For example, a person will claim they believe in Hell, and they believe they are Sinning, but yet they believe they will not be punished because God is Forgiving! So they keep doing it and ignore evidence that says otherwise to protect their reality from any influene that might require them to change it. So they chose to remain ignorant to safeguard their wishful thinking.

These types of people will usually protect themselves from reality by building a bubble of ignorance that blocks out any information threatening to their beliefs and lets through things that support it. This is often rationalized by ideas like "protection against brainwashing" or "avoiding scams or being deceived" or the "wait and see" approach:

Remember, Iblis wants to distract you. His mission isn't to lead you towards anything in particular, instead he is leading you away from one and only one particular path. This enables him to muddy the water by opening so many doors of distraction to keep you wasting your time instead of searching and finding the right door. Everyone is going to die eventually which makes life a timed test. Iblis prefers would prefer to waste your time instead of risking you catching on to his lies and expose his deception. So what better way is there for him than to "take a knee" and let you drain your time on silly matters. He's been very effective at this by spreading false doctrines of easy passage to heaven and doing basic things will keep you from Hell.

Christian beliefs-

Point 8-Value and prioritize your soul

Insert 4-Don't look adnan

The person in the video is advising the people to ignore someone until the people unite around him! I like it because it combines the next 3 tools on Iblis's belt to help him keep the people from finding the truth: be bias, keep your eyes shut, and ask for the impossible.

Strategy 6: Bias Examination

Bias examination is the trick of examining evidence without any regards to what it is that is being examined. It is the equivalence of using a thermometer to measure water level. An example of Bias is a person who claims that he is a true Shia and that he believes Imam Mahdi can and will come at any moment, unify the world, spread peace and justice on earth, be more knowledgeable than all humans on the planet, and that he people will be denying him at first yet this same person will immediately assume anyone who claims to be the Mahdi as mentally disturbed. Some would even go as far to snickering at laughing at such a person despite believing a secret birth of 1000+ year old version whose been hiding since he was 5 years old.

This is the same line of thinking that would lead to people rejecting the Mahdi. Because when you ask for someone with these abilities and set the qualifier to be your ability to recognize such a person without any or bare minimum examination of evidence then that is bias examination for it doesn't take into account the nature of what you are checking for. Assuming you are fit to recognize and understand The Mahdi is like believing in a superman that you can beat. Therefore the proper way of evaluating the Mahdi is to evaluate everything he presents as parts of 1 single piece of evidence. This means taking the time to examine his proofs in their entirety.

Strategy 7: Expect The Unexpected

Asking for something impossible is another guaranteed way to fall for Iblis's tricks and not recognize the truth. Many people don't believe in Iblis because they think he's invisible and they don't believe in any invisible things. But Iblis is extremely "visible", especially in 2016. The fact that you don't see him with your eyes should not be of any concern because he's made of electricity. So if you want to "see" or detect anything, you must use the proper tools depending on the nature of what is being detected. The expression "Iblis's greatest trick is convincing people he doesn't exist". It is great not because of how many people have fallen for it but because he is successful at it despite how obvious he is.

What she described as "a  mirror inside of a mirror" can easily be interpreted as today's communication reality, when people watch their tv or computer/tablet/phone screens (mirrors) and can see someone or a "shadow" of somebody (image of the person), who is looking at some type of a camera lens (mirror). Remember the miracle is the fact a prophecy comes true not something outside the natural laws takes place. See the Prophecy Section.

final mirror

Iblis here is trying to build up your expectations to unrealistic levels in order to unrecognize the Imam. And he does so by convincing you that it is ok to believe these exaggerations because otherwise you would be undermining the Imam's abilities. But that is not the case, and you will you can never reach your goal if you set a line that moves every time it is reached. .

Point 9-Don't believe any exaggerations absent any evidence

I'm sad to say, it seems he's been very successful using this tactic as a double edge sword. By making the "Anti-Chirst" and The Mahdi more than human in your minds, he was able to conceal himself and burry your Imam in your false expectations.

Strategy 8: Closed Mindedness

This is another form of bias examination combined with asking for the impossible by not taking into consideration what you are examining and requesting something impossible for the claim to be considered. This results in an amalgam of stupidity which results in evaluating and dismissing evidence because it contradicts what one believes despite the fact this contradiction is a criteria for evidence.

if you are Sunni and you know the Mahdi will come and correct and return the faith to it's purity, you need to evaluate everything he says and then compare at to the FOUNDATIONS of your beliefs. In otherwords, you need to ask yourself, is what he is presenting me with a more consistent evidence than what we have? not whether or not it is consistent with my BELIEF! Similar to any new scienctific theory being evaluated; It is evaluated based o it's ability to explain the reality , not whether it complies with the theory it is attempting to discredit! Otherwise you will always believe what you believe regardless of whether it is true or false. And you will be looking for reasons to keep believing what you want rather than change and accept the facts.

Even if we opened for them a gate into the sky, through which they climb;
they will say, "Our eyes have been deceived. We have been bewitched."

[Quran 15:14-15]

What God is pointing out to us here is that for those types of closed minded people, even if he opened for them a gate into the sky, they will still disbelieve and claim someone is doing magic to them or they are being drugged rather than accept the truth. This is why it's important to evaluate things in order to learn rather then to discredit them first. Only once you learn something the way it's been proposed (by taking everything into account) then you can go back and see how it fairs against what you believe to be true but contradicts the new information. And then and only then, you can make an adequate decision about which information makes more sense.

Point 10-Accept what you are being presented as a possibility of being true regardless of how strange or wrong it might sound.

See the Font Section for an in-depth reasoning behind this.

Keep in mind that "open minded" people are usually "closed minded" who never came to contact with ideas outside their box of acceptability. Closed minded people also believe they are open minded except for certain ideas. Being opposed to any idea before listening to it in its entirety is the definition of closed mindedness.

Strategy 9: False Background

Unknown Unknowns are the most dangerous in making someone blind to the truth. These are the things you are not aware of being false. The most dangerous of these are the fundamental ideas upon which you end up constructing your entire reality. If you find yourself one day coming face to face with an opposing idea that contradicts almost everything you believe, you are going to find it extremely difficult to change. Imagine how it's going to feel for many atheists today who have been mocking God and The Prophet when they find out God has been witnessing all of their actions? For this reason it is extremely important to question every peace of information we have convinced ourselves to be true based on widespread belief or the fact that it might be an obvious and rampant idea in the community I live in. If you don't then you risk being led by Iblis himself while you remain in the midst of the herd feeling comfortable and familiar.

Point 11-Question each and every fundamental belief.

If you have ever played the game "telephone", you' would be able to imagine how a small error can manifest itself into an enormous falsehood across time and people.

Strategy 10: People of Trust

The most common way people fall victim to false ideas and beliefs is by relying on others for information. Most of the time parents may have a big influence on your thoughts and ideas. And even if someone questions their parents' influence on them, it's their outlook on life that makes the greatest mark on you. It's the people they admire and listen to that paint a picture of who is trustworthy and who isn't. And this makes you listen to people who might either be lying on purpose or simply passing on what they were told to be true and learned it the same way you are learning it when you listen to them, on faith! Remember that even if a person is honest in his intentions does not mean what he says is true.

But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal."

And he swore to them both, that he was their sincere adviser.

Point 12-You need to evaluate such claims yourself not outsource it to a third party

Anything short of personal examination of the facts in this matter is equivalent to placing one's soul in someone else's hands. I find it interesting how willing people tend to be in doing that when most of you find it worrisome to let someone borrow your car! And this is specially true concerning religious scholars. Politics is very invested in controlling public opinion and rely heavily on religious institutions to do their bidding. People trust their religious figures more than politicians but the politicians are aware of this and make these positions susceptible to corruptive influence of figures in position of power seeking to spread lies or hide the truth in their favor.

This tells us that we must not rely on them concerning this matter, regardless of which side they fall on concerning my identity. You and only you must make this decision for yourself. I will certainly be asking for the reason you believe or disbelieve me.

Oh you people fear your Lord and guard against a day no father can avail his son nor a son avail his father, Indeed the promise of Allah is true, so do not be allured by the worldly life and do not let captivation enthrall you from Allah.

If you notice, a lot of Iblis's strategy are very similar. Many of them are versions of one another or share similar overlapping aspects and most are a combination of multiple ones. All of this is due to the shared common thread between them, Ignorance. All these strategies arose from false assumptions, pride, and envy. All of which are things based on a lack of knowledge of God. This is why keeping you ignorant is guaranteed to lead you to false beliefs. So if you are truly seeking the truth behind this world and you honestly seek to circumvent Iblis's tricks then the best way and only way is to knowledge. And the only way to attain knowledge is by a passion for learning and willingness to invest your time. Time invested in learning things with intentions to put them to good use is counted as time praying to God.

And Satan will say when the matter is decided: “It was God Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you but ye listened to me: then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with God. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty.”
